About PGF

Our Mission

The mission of Presbyterian Global Fellowship is to transform mainline congregations into missional communities following Jesus Christ.

Our Strategies

PGF fulfills this mission through four strategies.  PGF casts vision, by pronouncing the heart and character of the “missional church” and its imperative in the world.  PGF collaborates, by connecting with one another to share our ideas and best practices in missional living.  PGF coaches by providing support, leadership training and encouragement to clergy and lay persons who are choosing to live and serve in a missional community following Jesus Christ.  Finally, PGF celebrates, by rejoicing with those who are living out their missional calling.

Our Values

We are a fellowship of individuals and churches united by five distinctive commitments:

  • We are Christ-centered: we confess Jesus Christ as the Lord of all of life and the only true hope for a world that worships false gods, such as wealth, power and sex.
  • We are outwardly focused: we acknowledge that Christ calls us not primarily for our own benefit but for the sake of our neighbor and in mission to the world.
  • We are biblically reformed:  we affirm Scripture to be God’s unique message of salvation and an authoritative guide for how we are to live.
  • We are globally connected:  we recognize the importance of our relationships with the global church and commit to strengthening these ties through the use of new technologies.
  • We are locally empowered:  we lift up local congregations as frontlines of ministry where God is still at work, shining justice, beauty and truth into the world He created and seeks to redeem.

Our Initiatives

Inside Out Annual Conference- The event offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to gather around the PGF vision of congregations living into their calling as a “sent” people, and to be reignited for Christ’s mission by an impressive array of speakers and workshops. Alan Hirsch, Lauren Winner, and Brenda Salter McNeil will join as keynote speakers.

Missional Web- This state-of-the-art website, www.missionalweb.com , now in its early phases of development, will soon serve as a cutting-edge tool for building community and sharing best practices as we work together to transform our congregations into radical agents of Christ’s mission in the world.

Monthly e-newsletters- The regular e-publication connects readers locally and globally to where Christ is at work through His church, engages the reflections of today’s leading-edge theological practitioners, and offers updates on PGF’s ongoing initiatives.

Podcast- A monthly discussion regarding living a missional life.  Guests will join to share their ideas, scholarship, collaborations, successes, and challenges.

Regional Training Events – Gather together with scholars, pastors, leaders, and friends in local settings.  These events will focus on practical tools for missional transformation.

Local Chapters- The local congregation is the primary outpost for pointing to Christ at work in the world.   The PGF seeks to empower friends and neighbors in congregations and communities to live out the missional calling in their unique context.  Through leadership training, communication, support, and collaboration, the PGF will grow through investment in local gatherings.
